We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with our industry-leading client in Goleta, CAThis is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities:
  • Design, simulation, and verification of analog and digital designs, including programmable logic devices such as CPLDs and FPGAs.
  • Schematic capture, PCB layout, design rule development, component library management.
  • Design, simulation, and verification of embedded firmware for FPGAs, CPLDs, DSPs and microcontrollers.
  • Design iterations to support new features, end of life components, reliability, and resolution of issues found in manufacturing or the field.
  • Design or identification and verification of system cable harnessing.
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of design or system issues related to electrical designs, OEM hardware, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Support of quality assurances initiatives in responding to customer concerns and other product inquiries.
  • Work in cross-functional teams to ensure are all issues related to a design change are well understood in advance of implementation.
  • Design, and verification of test fixtures and test scripts used to improve product test and overall yield in manufacturing.
  • Support manufacturing in new product introductions, product issues, and component nonconformances (NCR).
  • Review of manufacturing instructions, bills of materials, rework instructions, travelers, and deviations.
  • Communications with suppliers of PCA, harnessing, and other OEM electrical components.

Requirements:
  • Experience in PCB design using Altium Designer preferred, or other PCB design software.
  • Experience with product development lifecycles including design, verification, validation, and new product introductions.
  • Experiences with simulation tools such as LTSpice, Altium Designer, or others.
  • Experience in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators and other electrical lab equipment.
  • Knowledge of FPGA design and embedded systems development preferred.
  • Strong ability to debug complex electro-mechanical systems, as well as PCA issues down to the component level.
  • Knowledge and experience with scripting languages such as TCL and Python is preferred.
  • Experience in development of embedded systems using programmable logic devices and micro
  • Knowledge and experience with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels and organizations.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), presentation, and documentation.
  • A passion for creating robust and reliable products.
