Thriving immigration law firm seeks a part-time paralegal/legal assistant to work under direction of sole practitioner. We have a receptionist/legal assistant working remotely, but this is not a remote position - must come in to the office. All COVID-19 safety protocols are in place.

Prior immigration experience is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate. MUST show demonstrated commitment to helping the immigrant community. This part-time position has potential to become full-time, but if candidate prefers part-time indefinitely, that works too.

This position is ideal for individuals in school and/or individuals seeking to re-enter the workforce. Duties include but are not limited to: preparing immigration applications and evidence to file with USCIS, the Immigration Court, and the Board of Immigration Appeals; communicating regularly with clients, collecting documents and information from clients; organizing documents to prepare for filing, translating documents from Spanish to English and vice versa, photocopying, calendaring deadlines, and filing.

Qualified candidates must:

- Pay strong attention to detail and be organized;

- Be fluent in both written and spoken Spanish;

- Have initiative, integrity, problem-solving skills, the ability to work efficiently and independently, and strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

The position is 20 hours per week with flexibility in scheduling. We are a small, hard-working, and congenial law practice looking for someone that is seeking at minimum a one [1] year commitment.
