Position Objective:

This individual will work with a team to identify and execute new development programs with targeted leaders in the automotive market to significantly grow ITW Drawform’s business. The incumbent will develop long term product developmental relationships with engineering resources and other functions of targeted key accounts – OEM’s and Tier 1 suppliers – to develop our future generation of automotive solutions. The role will leverage the Customer Back Innovation Framework to communicate and manage projects through the process.

Essential Functions:

· Collect competitive and market intelligence to help define future industry needs and requirements, along with recommended action plans to grow business

· Cultivate key customer relationships with advanced strategy, product development, and product engineering groups to deeply understand their needs

· Identify and develop new product opportunities for unmet market and application needs to drive profitable, sustainable differentiated growth

· Utilize the innovation framework to direct and manage projects through stage gates, developing new tools as needed

· Develop and execute both short and long term plans while managing expectations through technical expertise and bringing win-win solutions for customers and ITW

· Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities.

· Driving decisions and accountability using business case criteria and balanced risk analysis

· Execute IP consistent with division strategy

· Collaborate new product or application execution with go-to market commercial teams, engineering and supply chain

· Create and present formal presentations to all levels of the customer and ITW

· Develops and proposes production test methods and drafts product design specifications

· Participate in relevant industry trade shows and organizations

· Travel to customer locations, plants, and supplier locations as necessary to develop and maintain customer relations. Some global travel may be required

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical field required.

· Prior experience in applicable engineering product development role.

· 8 years of experience working with automotive OEM/Tier1’s with at least 4 years expertise in technical sales / marketing.

· Experience leading and developing talent and teams; ability to work across internal and external stakeholders.

· Deep understanding of automotive powertrain systems.

· Experience selling engineered-product-into-OEM or Tier applications in the automotive market

· Strong understanding of customer advanced development activities and approval milestones in order to progress initial concepts to working prototypes and ultimately production implementation.

· Exceptional relationship and communication skills, presence consistent with this important customer facing role.

· Deep understanding of new product introduction and development (NPI / APQP)

· Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change
