Technical Manager, Software Engineering MARINA DEL REY, CA 6 months CTH Responsibilities:
- Partnering with business stakeholders in self-organizing teams to architect, design, and develop new features for our enterprise back-end architecture.
- Working with partnering technology and business teams to ensure rich capabilities are delivered with high functional and engineering quality, on an iterative basis.
- Working closely with your team and other engineering leads, you will help conduct peer review of code and technical designs
- You will be responsible for leading a small team of engineers where you will help them lead the execution of new initiatives, improvement of existing systems, and support of system maintenance and defect resolutions.
- Will provide guidance and support to help your subordinates grow in their career path.
- Support technology applications through their entire lifecycle.
- Review platform performance and optimization across the enterprise system as needed
- You will help support our current enterprise platform while building out our future platform that will be high performant, scalable, and redundant.
- At least 8 years of professional development experience. Must have experience driving initiatives across the full journey of SDLC
- Production experience with Java applications and JVM application tuning
- Experience with architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, support, and troubleshooting distributed applications running in a cloud environment, preferably AWS
- Experience with blocking and async application architectures
- Experience with Message bus infrastructure (Kafka, SQS, or Kinesis)
- Relational data modeling experience as well as NOSQL experience, preferably with an understanding of advanced concepts (query optimization, serialization, versioning, bulk operations)
- Focus on writing idiomatic code
- Strong awareness and proponent of the unit and integration testing
- Deep understanding in one or two technical areas but with a curiosity covering a wide range of topics.
- Experience in agile software development (Scrum or Kanban)
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- A highly motivated tech geek who is a self/quick learner with amplitude to think outside the box.
- Professional attitude towards your peers, as well as everyone in the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with different groups
- Technical, thorough, and detailed oriented.
- Experience with Spring / Spring Boot
- Experience developing actor model applications in Scala using the Akka toolkit
- Experience with Redis, Cassandra, MongoDB, or ElasticSearch
- Experienced in practices of Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery
- Experience with Docker / ECS / Kubernetes or other Containerization of services
- Experience with Serverless Application Model for AWS including Lambda
- Familiarity in the domain of Logistics or Enterprise Resource Planning or similar operational systems
