- Detailed overview of functional and technical role expectations Proficient in numerical analysis and data visualization with tools such as Matlab, NumPy, or MatplotlibCreate new software features in Waymo's Honeycomb LIDAR driver.Debug customer issues and implement fixes in the Honeycomb LIDAR driver.Develop new software and driver features as directed by Waymo.Create software and analysis tools to support sales demonstrations.Set up and run tests to characterize the sensor, which includes creating experiments and tests to ensure the sensor is performing as expected and analyzing how it performs under certain conditions, and creating supporting software tools to run and analyze the test results.Create automated testing scripts.Preferred Skills Passion for robotics and self-driving vehicles.Motivated, flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with tight timing constraints.Proven problem solving and communication skills, excellent numeracy and spatial awareness.Assertive, self-motivated and can work with minimal direction.
