Hawks Aloft, Inc., a 27-year-old nonprofit company, is seeking a part-time (20 hrs. per week) Office Manager/Bookkeeper. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day office operations and will often be the only one present in our office, especially during this time of COVID when most staff work from home, and during the summer research field season. Position requires a take-charge individual with a proven track record in problem resolution and successful operation of a business office. An interest in birds, the environment, and working with awesome volunteers is a plus.

Applicant must have experience in the following areas:

Fluency with QuickBooks Desktop and Excel,

Time reporting and payroll processing in QuickBooks for 8-10 employees,

Monthly and quarterly state and federal payroll tax payments and reporting,

Accounts Payable,

Accounts Receivable,

Budgeting,

Bank deposits and reconciliations,

Grants/Contracts Management, especially government

Other job tasks:

General office organization

Compiling reports for Board of Director meetings every other month

Telephone reception (light phones)

Filling Online Orders (2 – 4 per week) T-shirts, new member packets, etc.

Qualification Requirements:

Some college level accounting coursework

2+ years’ experience in the this field
