Instrumentation Manager-Direct Hire-Sonoma County, CA.Position Summary:This role is responsible for the leadership of the instrumentation department. Provide guidance on daily priorities and activities. Mentor technicians on the proper repair of instruments. Maintain spare parts inventory. Responsibilities also include recommending and implementing improvements to instruments and procedures. Travel between Petaluma and Novato campuses. Key accountabilities:

  • Maintain assigned repairs of the manufacturing instruments.
  • Establish and maintain preventative maintenance program.
  • Oversee proper repair of all varieties of equipment and systems, including but not limited to: HPLC, Purification Instruments, Mass Spectrometers
  • Communicate with lab techs and floor supervisors on instrument and equipment status.
  • Maintain stock inventory of replacement parts for all instruments and various equipment.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the instruments, equipment and, procedures.
  • Routinely report on the status of the equipment.
  • Support installation of new production equipment.
  • Supervise bench rebuild and repairs including component testing.
  • Oversee technicians in performing repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain shop organization and personal work spaces.
Key Duties:
  • Lead a team over 2 sites
  • Liaison for external service representatives
  • Preventative maintenance program development/maintenance
  • Oversee small liquid, vacuum pump, PC board troubleshooting and repairs
  • Knowledgeable in the rebuild and repair of components related to small instrumentation
  • Evaluation of spare part functionality
  • Establish and maintain spare parts inventory
  • Instrument trouble shooting
Education/Experience:
  • A Technical degree (Associates/Bachelors) in electronics/instrumentation or equivalent experience preferred
  • A minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience required
  • A familiarity with chemistry and basic fluid delivery process preferred
  • A foundation in electronic and electrical control preferred
  • Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and equipment required
