As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you'll be responsible for answering incoming calls/completing outbound calls to / from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity. As a senior team member, you'll help identify problems and determine solutions both independently or in a team/group setting. You'll need to work within multiple computer systems simultaneously as you respond to questions or provide specific medication details / clinical information. It's a fast paced, high volume environment where accuracy is essential. Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compound infusion medications
- Use aseptic techniques
- Staging medications for compounding
- Process refills
- Call patients to assess and order refills
- Ordering medications and supplies from vendors
- Inventory of pharmacy (drugs and supplies)
- Coordinate with doctor offices regarding patient refills when necessary
- High school diploma / GED (or higher)
- Texas State Pharmacy Tech License
- National Pharmacy Tech Certification
- 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in home infusion or hospital environment
- Ability to work a flexible shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday - Friday, with rotating on call weekends as needed
- You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location.
- Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.
- 2+ years of IV compounding experience
- CPR+ experience
- Experience ordering through local vendors
- Texas State Sterile Compounding IV Certification
