Job Summary:

The Human Resource Assistant will support the daily functions of HR including hiring and interviewing staff, payroll, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties

Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources executives

Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies)

Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc)

Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations

Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, timesheet approvals, etc)

Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures

Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews.

Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees.

Assist our recruiters to source candidates and update our database.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Ensure accuracy of payroll records by maintaining database with updates in status changes, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, time off accruals, etc.

Ensures that all COVID-19 health and safety policies and practices are implemented and adhered to within offices and manages the field safety person to ensure similar compliance externally at jobsites. Advises management on best practices related to COVID-19. Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the legal guidelines. Ensure required health compliance training continues to be provided to employees. Assist with the incoming information from Health Champion daily and responds accordingly involving the Controller/Senior Accountant.

Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with other mandatory training. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training and COVID related protocols

Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

Assists with new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and Run

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in, HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

At least two years of human resource experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
