VSolvit is currently seeking a Junior Desktop Developer in support of the U.S. Navy —Naval Surface Weapons Center (Corona) ARPA-IT contract. This position will support the Analysis Applications Branch. The individual selected for this position will be part of a team supporting multi-platform desktop applications implemented in C, Python and Java.
Responsibilities- Maintains, creates, and modifies software tools for Analysis Application Branch
- Takes user requirements and generates functional specifications
- Converts project requirements into code
- Ensures development is done adhering to coding/development standards
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to apply good judgment in devising program logic and selecting and adapting standard programming procedures.
- Ability to resolve problems and troubleshoot systems according to established practices
- Working knowledge of:
- Principles and practices common to production software development
- Version control
- Code libraries
- Design patterns
- Source control systems
- Software documentation
- Code reviews
- Testing tools and methodology
- Software release management
- 6+ years’ experience developing applications using C in an object-oriented environment
- 2+ years’ experience with Visual Studio
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- CompTIA Security+
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) plus a minimum of two years of software development experience
- or
- AA degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science plus a minimum of four years of software development experience
- or
- Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) plus a minimum of four years of software development experience
- 8+ years’ experience developing full stack applications using C in an object-oriented environment
- Java programming experience
- Experience using Git and Atlassian software
