IBM AIX & Frame System AdministratorProvide global tech refresh support to the IBM Power platform infrastructures along with all of its virtualization technologies. AIX migration support to the internal system administrator teams with regards to migrating LPARs from old to new frames. Provide expert guidance on migration methods for tech refresh execution. Team is managed by the Global Frames Operational Support Services managers based in the UK.Key Responsibilities include:

• Remote assist with failed hardware replacements concurrent and non-concurrent with Hardware vendor
• Pro-active pathing of VIOs, Control Domains and Hardware management consoles
• Pro-active firmware upgrade on frames and Hardware management consoles
• 24/7 Support for production issues (Frames/VIOs/ Control Domains/Hardware management consoles and guest operating systems)
• Storage SAN allocation from VIOs/Control domains to LPARS/LDOMS.
• Storage Migrations (Unmap/Map devices from VIOs/Control domains to LPARS/LDOMS)
• Problem trouble shooting – SAN/Network
• Disaster recovery support.
• Frame/LPAR/LDOMs consolidations and migrations (LPM/Offline)
• Remote assist with hardware upgrade (e.g. CPU, memory)
• Support for Data center facilities changes (Frame relocation)
• Support for Network and storage changes - For Frames/ VIOs/Control domains & Hardware Management console.
• Frames/ VIOs/Control domains & Hardware Management – Decommission
• New site / data center : Frame ,VIO domain controller configurations
• POD installs/frame additions
• Technology Refresh - new frame configuration/validation/testing
• Provisioning physical Frames (configuration/testing/checks)
• Design Document: Frame Networking, cabling, Storage and switch port documentation
• Co-ordination of Frame provisioning as per above task (standard document)
• Frame infrastructure configuration/testing/validation
• Support of Uplogix
• In place upgrade for Operating Systems and Unix servers patching

• Years of related experience: 6+ years
• Experience in managing IBM P and Solaris Hardware.
• Experience in Operating systems Upgrades and Patching.
• Ability to design and implement automated test;
• Be proficient in creating readable documentation;
• Experience in managing VIOs , Control domain and Hardware management consoles.
• Experience in Storage and Network technologies.
• Experience is configuring and managing live partition mobility for LDOMs & LPARS
• Experience in testing new product releases.
• Experience in Ansible automation.
• Experience is configuring and Managing high availability and business continuity.
• Experience in RedHat Linux operating System.
• Focused on configuration governance on a wide scale environment;
