RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce's client, a growing Medical Device Company in the San Diego, CA Metro area, is seeking a Remote R&D Embedded Software Engineering. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager. This position is 100% remote. Responsibilities: Will develop new software, maintain existing software, perform root cause analysis, assist in bug fixes and feature enhancement Will work closely with hardware development to specify, develop, debug, and validate new and existing products Will work closely with application development to ensure proper systems integration Will act as a resource to Customer Support for firmware and software related issues Improve the product's performance, capabilities, general usability, and reliability Work in a team consisting of other software and hardware engineers Involved with the continued development and commercialization of the company's Medical Device products, including its various kinematic and orthopedic measurements, Cardiovascular (CV) products, and the faithful transmission of the data to the Company's cloudREQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor of Science or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field is required for this position Minimum of 5 years of experience with software engineering Minimum of 3 years of experience with embedded software engineering Experience in an FDA regulated medical device manufacturing environment Experience with quality management systems Has used different types of sensors (gyro, accelerometer) Developing software and knowledge of one or more microcontroller (ARM, Texas Instruments, etc.) Integrating hardware and software, particularly in an embedded context Low level drivers and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, USB, UART, PWM, generators, Ethernet, etc.) Strong with debugging and troubleshooting Excellent communication and teamwork skills are necessary Complete familiarity with software development life cycle and development processes Strong firmware design experience in C Experience working with implantable medical devices such as pacemakers, artificial hearts, infusion pumps, diagnostic equipment, or other technologies MATLAB, C/C, Java, and Microsoft SQL Server Microsoft Azure cloud computing ecosystem IMU sensors Fast control loops, particularly those involving motors and sensors Real-time operating systems Common development tools: environments, compilers, build management software, debugging and source control tools, etc. Reading and understanding datasheets, electrical diagrams, hardware specificationsKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
