  • Engineering enterprise data, voice and video networks
  • Establishing and operating network test facilities
  • Maintaining and secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal and external networks
  • Working with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on network implementation, optimization and ongoing management
  • Providing high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, hubs, bridges and routers Skills Experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, Internet protocols and TCP/IP, and server and network infrastructure are typical job requirements.
Education:A bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) highly desirable Level IV - Senior: 9+ yearsServices to be provided:Circuit implementation
  • Work with telecommunication vendors to organize and deliver ordered services
  • Work with the business partners to organize and deliver services ordered by partners
  • Work with internal customers to organize and deliver ordered services
  • Use client's systems to request, complete and report on various circuit connection tasks
  • Use client's systems to perform minor equipment configuration tasks preparatory to circuit use
  • Work closely with Network Engineering and other client's groups to accomplish above
Documentation
  • Update various client's systems with current information for circuits and related services
  • Update various client's systems with accurate vendor information
  • Update various client's systems with progress reports on services being implemented or decommissioned
Inventory
  • Review for accuracy and completeness all circuit and connectivity services and related attributes
  • Work with vendors to ensure quality of contracted services
  • Review inventory for cost savings opportunities (e.g. expired contract terms, competitive rates, etc.)
  • Work within and understand budget allowances for connectivity inventory costs
Communication
  • Work with vendors to ensure prompt service delivery and overall dissemination of information
  • Provide weekly reports on all activities
  • Respond to information requests related to all connectivity services
  • Attend project and vendor meetings
Other
  • Work with internal customers to develop specifications for new services to be ordered
  • Work with internal systems for order approvals (technical oversight, Finance, Legal, Accounts Payable)
  • As needed, be the team point-of-contact for all issues (e.g. other team members unavailable)
  • Non-business hour service occasionally required
Key Required skills
  • Broad understanding of computer networking principles
  • Basic use of spreadsheet and word processing tools
  • Able to coherently communicate verbally, via email and with other common communication tools
  • Familiarity with router and switch configurations (JunOS, IOS)
  • Able to organize and prioritize multiple competing projects and tasks
