Job Description:Our client is actively seeking a strong PM who can manage and lead the Manufacturing vertical for IT projects. This role will be 70% Project Management and 30% ERP Projects. Client is needing a very strong PM with Manufacturing experience that has managed at least 2 SAP projects. Candidate must know how to speak the SAP language to effectively manage and drive the projects.

Environment: Primarily Waterfall, so AGILE is not required. The Manufacturing side of the business has fully returned to the plants and offices. This person can sit in either Salina, KS or in Gainesville, GA.

Sr. Manager, ManufacturingSeeking a talented Project Manager who possesses key strengths in facilitating ERP projects in a large manufacturing setup with fluctuating deadlines and fast-paced environments. Must possess topnotch adaptive Project Managerial skills to absorb the companies’ culture to achieve their objectives.This is a hands-on position to support our client’s national manufacturing locations with heavy emphasis on coordination of manufacturing stream, tracking required with understanding processes, include scoping of projects, alignment with business sponsors and key stakeholders, project execution, and communication of status and risks.

Scope of Position:Individual will lead Project Management teams, responsible for end-to-end project management across all functions within Manufacturing. This will include definition and scoping of projects, alignment with business sponsors and key stakeholders, project execution, and communication of status and risks. The position will provide key input into the design and planning of key strategic initiatives and manage a team of resources to establish consistent methodology and excellence in execution. In short, execute projects that exceed Management and User expectations. The Project Manager must communicate with business users to define specific needs. While working with technical teams, the PM will create requirements, project objectives/milestones, and schedules and oversee quality control throughout the entire project.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the scope, project plans and budgets related to the Manufacturing projects.
  • Manage the customer interface, site visits and business requirement gathering sessions.
  • Ensure processes are followed and relevant standards are continuously adhered to.
  • Full responsibility for the build and deployment of the supporting IT infrastructure and facility projects
  • Continuously deliver status and communications on all project phases
  • Develop and maintain work plans that consider strategic goals, priorities, milestones, time estimates, task sequencing and critical paths while at the same time determining what tasks can be performed concurrently.
  • Ensures the timely and quality development of all deliverables for projects.
  • Must be able to thoroughly assess projects eliminating or minimizing scope creep.
  • Create a consistent methodology to track and maintain future enhancements as additional requirements are added unexpectedly to a project.
  • Accomplishes information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments.
  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science or Engineering at an accredited university.
  • 5+ years’ experience in SAP manufacturing systems with proven process improvement proficiency in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5-10 years of direct project management experience.
  • PMI Certification and/or Six Sigma training is required.
  • At least 2 years of functional SAP experience PP (Production Planning) and MM (Materials Management) and integrating different departments involved in production and manufacturing.
  • Experience with MES systems implementation (preferred)
  • Industry: Experience with a manufacturing/supply chain domain (preferred).
  • Have a strong knowledge of IT products and services and educated and experienced in industry best practices specific to project management, PMI’s standards (preferred).
  • Testing Models: Waterfall methodologies of project execution (required).
  • ERP: Exposure to working on ERP/Cloud enabled environments (preferred).
  • Experience managing projects executed with major IT consulting companies/vendors (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. Strong leadership, management, and negotiation skills.
