Job Description

The

Director of Nursing supervises, heads, and coordinates nursing activities and nursing personnel in our locations. Evaluates nursing activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.

  • This is a remote position with moderate to heavy travel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees nursing operations to uphold established mission, vision, core values, and strategic plan.
  • Provides leadership and direction to nursing staff to assure that organizational standards and policies are maintained and followed.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all policies, procedures, regulations, and laws both locally and nationally.
  • Ensures nursing program is executed in alignment with all Joint Commission standards.
  • Perform chart audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with all policies, procedures, regulations, and laws both locally and nationally.
  • Develop training materials for nursing staff to include training videos and manuals.
  • Train nursing staff in regard to all protocols and procedures.
  • Oversees Infection Control Policies within the organization and ensures staff adherence to Infection Control Protocols.
  • Responsible for all waive test training in the organization’s facilities.
  • Consult with doctors, therapist, and others when needed.
  • Responsible for creating and updating all nursing protocol manuals.
  • Perform MAR audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Contributes to the development of nurses across the organization.
  • Uses critical thinking skills to identify challenges and propose solutions.
  • Works collaboratively with the Eating Disorder Division President to improve nursing systems and effectiveness.
  • Supports in organizational change management and initiatives.
  • Some direct care may be required.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with current licensure in one of the states of operation of Center for Discovery
  • Must have a Bachelors of Nursing
  • Five years of experience with compliance and personnel management required
  • Experience with psychiatric care preferred
