Internship Project Description The intern at RefleXion will be part of the Software Systems team that is responsible for the full stack (UI, DB, server, embedded, network, etc.) of our systems health and performance. Primary task for this position will include researching, prototyping and developing tools to produce data from our distributed real-time system for analytics. The goal from the interns project will provide our organization with observability (i.e. answering the why in addition to the what when issues occur) from our system. This goal will benefit the organization with:
  • Root cause analysis
  • Machine pattern recognition

Intern Responsibilities and Learning Objectives
  • Researching, prototyping and developing tools to produce data from our distributed real-time system for analytics to provide the following features:
  • Capture system characteristics into defined models.
  • Identify system anomalies.
  • Analytics to help with identifying root cause of anomalies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Senior in an undergraduate program for computer science or related engineering field.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with end-to-end (Software and Hardware) system design/architecture
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Robust testing standards when verifying work
  • Dedication and determination to get through challenging problems
  • Autonomous worker that has excellent research skills
  • Ability to adapt and work quickly in a fast paced, high transaction environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels and organizations
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across supported organizations
  • Excellent communication (written, oral), presentation and documentation skills
  • A passion for creating robust and reliable product
Nice to have
  • Graduate program for computer science and/or engineering with prior internships, co- op, or research lab work.
  • Linux OS, writing bash scripts and/or CLI tools
  • Programming experience with object oriented and functional languages
  • Webstack development experience
  • Build automation experience
  • Network experience
  • DB experience (Relational or Document-based, SQL, MongoDB)
  • C, Make
  • MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, AngularJS, Node.js)
