The Senior Release Management Project Manager leads and delivers new solutions and global projects that drive transformation within Paycom for our customers and employees. This position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring large scale initiatives that support critical operational functions spanning multiple business units.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery including full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously spanning one or multiple lines of business
  • Manage all aspects of multiple inter-related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives for both the product and Paycom
  • Develop and deliver timely and accurate project plans, progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, C-suite and key stakeholders
  • Provide deep analysis of variable factors and proactive risk management for high risk projects; recommend potential solutions to issues; following established escalation procedures. Act as an internal quality control check for the project.
  • Collaborate daily with internal stakeholders, including marketing, communications, internal training teams, etc, and drive release communications and activities for module specific and global projects
  • Direct internal teams to ensure all releases are deployed similarly to ensure full adoption and client usage of each feature.
  • Manage schedules and work requests surrounding deployments.
  • Foresee interdependencies and act as a liaison between technology, operations and business needs, make recommendations to ensure projects do not conflict with current processes, drive communication on changing requirements and project modifications
  • Act as an expert or involve subject matter experts to consult on user impact and best practices when changing or implementing new solutions.
  • Lead product demos and showcases to inform stakeholders of development changes to begin training & development creation.
  • Guide, mentor, and occasionally supervise activities of Release Project Managers.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence

Education/Certification/Experience:
  • Bachelors degree and 4 years of experience working in a technical or software implementation role or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of experience managing projects software/technical projects required
  • Prior experience with project management software required

Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to motivate teams and manage projects with a calm and reassuring demeanor.
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing between various business and technical teams
  • Strong technical, project management, business analysis and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently as well as cross-functionally in an organization to successfully implement projects
  • Proficient in the use of Agile Project management software (e.g. Jira, Wrike, MS Project)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; high attention to detail; ability to clearly and confidently explain new concepts to audiences
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Well organized
