Job Title: Senior Systems EngineerLocation: Scottsdale, AZJob Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to work from their Scottsdale, AZ facility.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in system engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.We prefer someone with experience with SIGINT/COMINT/ELINT and Electronic Warfare systems architecture and design.Candidates should have working knowledge of:•SIGINT/COMINT/ELINT and Electronic Warfare systems •Data and Voice communication systems •System Architectures for tactical systems•Modern signals / waveformsCLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Key Responsibilities: The System Engineer will support DoD SIGINT program captures and execution. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the assessment of the requirements, development of architectures, and the selection of COTS products and implementation strategies leading to proposal preparation.The candidate will work as part of the engineering team to:•Evaluate Customer requirements as they apply to the DSP capabilities. This includes preparation and delivery of customer briefings and capability demonstrations.•Perform trade studies pertaining to the digitization of the RF front and the processing of IQ data supportive of DF processing as well as other data analytics.•Define configurational, preliminary, detailed design, and integration strategies involving the digital to analog and analog to digital converters.•Derive DSP subassembly requirements from customer system/subsystem requirements as well as perform analysis and simulation/modeling.•Develop buildup, integration and system level test approaches and plans.•Support business development activities through analysis of customer and market requirements and comparison against GD-MS product lines along with other vendor products/capabilities.•Recommend the development of new capabilities in support of market and customer needsKey knowledge Skills:•A seasoned, experienced professional having a broad range of expertise, unique knowledge and a wide range of professional experience and possessing a substantial understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories and expert at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways•Possesses the skills and aptitude to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways•Substantial skills at helping company meet financial and business objectives by resolving complex issues in creative, effective and financially favorable ways•Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles•Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results•Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups•Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills•Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments •Substantial ability to excel at the development of new theories and methods•Substantial awareness of business objectives and Engineering's role in achieving•Substantial ability to be creative, innovative and accountable, and has mastered advanced decision-making skills•Substantial ability to multi-task•Substantial ability to grasp and apply new information quickly•Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects as a technical lead with little or no direction, frequently provides direction and leadership to technical teams and determines methods and procedures •Substantial ability to handle significant responsibility, leadership and accountability while executing very complex assignments •Substantial ability to be a team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments•Advocate and champion at interpreting, defining and applying company policies and procedures to resolve very complex issues•Able to contribute to shaping major market opportunities•Substantial written and verbal communications skills•Substantial ability to recognize and clearly report relevant information•Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions; someone who is capable of providing technical leadership to an organizationPreferred Experience: SIGINT Systems, ELINT Systems, Electronic Warfare Systems, and Cyber Systems.Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled.
