- 10+ years experience in developing software applications including analysis, design, coding, testing, deploying and supporting of applications.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related disciplines
- Must have had at least 3 big data program implementations on any Hadoop distribution.
- Experience in software development of large-scale distributed systems with proven track record of delivering backend systems with complex infrastructure.
- Very strong programming skills in one or more languages, preferably Python, Scala or Java.
- Proficient with software architecture (Data Modelling, Design Patterns).
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, & distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of Big data and Hadoop architecture.
- Strong experience in Hadoop related technologies especially Hive and writing complex shell scripts
- Proficient with Spark development, preferably using Scala or Python.
- Hands on experience in working with at least one relation database (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL etc.) and one NoSQL database (HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB etc.).
- Hands on experience with one or multiple cloud related technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Hands on experience working with ETL tools like Apache NiFi, Airflow, Oozie, Talend, DataStage etc.
- Excellent planning, project management, leadership and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Delivery focused and willingness to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Take initiative and be responsible for delivering complex software.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Master's in Computer Science or related disciplines
- Experience with reporting/visualization tool like Tableau, PowerBI etc.
- Hadoop, Spark or Cloud Certification.
- Knowledge of ELK stack, CI/CD and Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
