EPIC EHR contractor for a on-going contract opportunity.

Duties: Epic Applications Support manage all phases of a system optimization or upgrade project and provides production services such as recommending improvements to strategy, system usage, or process through the application of business and technology skill sets. Reviews and analyzes programming systems including testing and documenting Epic applications. Consults with customers to identify current operation procedures and to clarify program objectives. Additional responsibilities include workflow administration, data management and performing minor modifications to the application.Our Client role may require evening/weekend work as well as travel to practices sites, including but may not be limited to travel within Houston and Austin. Responsibility A: Collaborates with internal core stakeholders to identify system issues and process needs, ensures EMR and other systems are being optimized. Responsibility B: Supports business/clinical operations and serves as liaison to I.S. supporting continued system maintenance and optimization. Responsibility C: Works with I.S. and customers to perform functional configuration analysis for system implementations, on-going maintenance and other projects. Responsibility D: Analyzes system problems and modifications. Responsibility E: Coordinates training of systems.• Work closely with application and technology teams to organize and structure the testing effort for application, interface, and integrated testing• Ensure development of standardized test scripts that will cover the functionality, design, technical requirements, and workflow use• Develop streamlined and repeatable regression and integrated test scripts• Manage defect log process and ensures proper resolution and retesting as needed• Create and coordinate the process for application testing to be executed by individual application analysts• Assist with efforts to improve and expand testing capabilities (automation, requirements traceability, etc.)• Manage effective engagement of interfaces in the testing process and validation• Communicates status on testing efforts, including metrics such as test execution percent complete and defect/issues logs• Complete work assignments in accordance with an established project timeline. Informs manager(s) of issues requiring their direct attention• Attend testing kickoff & status meetings throughout the duration of the project and assist with documentation• Provide weekly status reports for the duration of testing• Prepare written materials for use in presentations, meetings and final project documentation (as requested)

Skills:
  • Knowledge of current business practices and Epic systems, interfaces, and standard healthcare software. Familiarity with a variety of hardware and software environments.
  • A working knowledge of the healthcare industry is also required.
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare applications.
  • Knowledge of Epic applications preferred.
  • For complete satisfactory performance in this job, the incumbent will have knowledge of project management and planning, process mapping, group presentation, written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills, ability to analyze the functionality of systems and their fit with specifications.
  • The ability to troubleshoot basic problems and recommend appropriate action is required.
  • 1+ year of experience with project methodology (requirements, design, development, test and implementation).
• 5+ years working on Epic EHR• Experience developing test plans and test cases, documenting defects, developing issues logs, and reporting out on progress, required• EMR test experience; certification and/or knowledge of Epic systems, preferred (Especially Epic Tapestry)• Highly prefer prior project management experience

Education: Required- High School Diploma; Required-7 years experience in healthcare operations and/or information systems implementation; Bachelor’s degree will substitute four (4) years of work experience. Master’s degree will substitute for two (2) years of work experience.
