We are looking to add a Repair and Calibration Service Technician to join our client’s team.Responsibility:

  • Proficiently repairs and calibrates a broad range of Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). Serves as a mentor to technicians and may also serve as team lead.
  • Independently, solves complex technical problems, determines the root cause and initiates corrective action resulting in solutions that are cost effective and enhance the process. This person is considered a product expert on more than one product family.
  • Improves current processes by analyzing data from reports, verbal inputs and querying databases. Uses this analysis to generate formal proposals for process improvement and presents them to management.
  • Researches and recommends new test equipment for improved testing proficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Uses advanced software skills and technical expertise to fix, enhance or develop automated calibration procedures. Ensures that all results are documented in a format that can be incorporated into Service Center processes with little or no editing.
  • Interfaces effectively with trade and internal customers, division engineering support groups, initiating the interaction when appropriate.
  • Resolves trade customer complex technical problems and provide advice on set-up, applications and issues related to compatibility, site-prep, ESD etc. Does this independently, or by leading teams. Retains ownership through problem resolution.
  • This is done verbally or via technical correspondence and may be accomplished by phone or visits to the customer site.
  • Facilitates discussions among Service personnel, cross-functional teams and trade customers regarding technical issues or problem resolution. Makes formal presentations on technical matters to customers, engineering and management.
  • Stays current on our client’s SSU and Service Center business direction, policies, and strategies. Can effectively back up the Manager as needed, on all matters except those that mandate Exempt action, e.g. salary administration, disciplinary action, etc.
  • Maintains high workmanship standards and delivers on commitments. Promotes ESD, Service Note compliance, and other programs that are conducive to the delivery of high-quality service and minimization of re-repair.
Requirements:
  • This position requires an Associate Degree in Electronic Technology, specialized training/certification, or applicable Military experience.
  • And a minimum of 3 years directly related experience, with typically 6 to 8 years of experience.
  • This position requires some calibration and repair of a wide variety of Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Sampling Scopes, Active Probes, Passive Probes, Passive devices, signal generators, network analyzers, power supplies, power sensors, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and other equipment with ranges up to 67 GHz
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers. May initiate customer interaction as appropriate. Escalates issues through appropriate channels when necessary. This is done verbally or via written correspondence.
  • 6+ years of related experience in the calibration and repair of electronic test equipment is preferred.
  • Demonstrates electronic and mechanical competence.
  • Exhibits the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with wide range of people.
