BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST IILocation: Manhattan Beach, CAJOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for consulting with the business, defining business requirements, analyzing business processes, and ensuring the timely implementation of business enabling technology.
  • Will be deeply involved throughout the solution development lifecycle and is expected to take personal responsibility and ownership for delivery and results.
  • Works with a minimal amount of supervision and direction and is authorized to take reasonable actions necessary to carry out the assigned responsibilities of the position.
  • Has no direct supervisory responsibilities but will be expected to take the lead on assigned projects to mentor less experienced Application Support Analysts, or Quality Assurance Analysts.
  • Gather and document business requirements, formulate use cases, participate in solution design.
  • Track requirements, provide status, and ensure quality of solution throughout the project.
  • Create functional specifications for new or modified systems and processes.
  • Recommend system and / or process improvements.
  • Act as the primary contact for systems, reporting and process related analysis.
  • Assist the Project Manager with scope management, change management and solution definition.
  • Participate in project communications, training materials, and business procedures / documentation.
  • Conceptualize and design Dashboards and reports that are representative of the business unit's productivity.
  • Support and / or facilitate business user systems training as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, computer science, information systems or analytical techniques preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 - 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst. Experience must include working independently on projects that built or enhanced large or complex production systems.
  • Finance services, banking or credit union industry experience required.
  • Experience as outlined may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Thorough familiarity with problem analysis and excellent level of problem-solving capabilities to establish adequate solutions to operating problems.
  • Excellent communication - verbal and in writing. Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Must be highly organized and capable of handling multiple tasks concurrently, are able to redirect priorities based upon current workload.
  • Must be able to work independently with guidance on key requirements provided by business partners.
  • Good technical skills to include MS Office, knowledge of Web technologies and databases.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and personally participate in projects.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
  • Ability to translate needs of users and external entities into projects or tasks which are practical (good analytical skills) and are well synthesized and integrated into the systems environment.
  • Required to travel to work sites or other sites for events.
  • Should be able to exercise sound judgment, be able to plan, be well organized, have excellent oral and written communications skills, work well under pressure, take the initiative, and be flexible and cooperative.
