Care Provider Needed for Senior

Seeking a reliable flexible contract part-time professional caretaker who can help my 86 year old Dad living in Zavalla. I need someone with dementia experience, transportation, punctual attendance, sense of humor, medication management skills, and strong team player. We have a team of 4 awesome providers and this position would be one of the 4. He still has many skills (independently dresses and showers) and has a great sense of humor, so right now, the position is fairly easy. The shift is 3-9 p.m., 3-5 days/week or 9a-9p 1 or 2 days/week. (Some flexibility on this.) Yes, you will be driving home in the dark, and if that's a problem, please do not apply. It is approximately 40 minutes from Lufkin.

Must speak English, be communicative, text in a timely manner, be reliable, consistent, patient, on time and experienced in working with seniors who have memory issues. Interview will be by phone or FaceTime. Send resume and information about yourself.

Pay: $10/hour (negotiable)

Would also consider a live-in in exchange for partial rent/care-taking. Private room/shared bath.

Skills and Tasks Needed:

-Practice Covid safe precautions at all times

-Companionship

-Administer medications

-Meal/Snack prep

-Housekeeping

-Assess safety in the home and adjust as necessary

-Periodic outings

-Report immediately and appropriately any emergency situation; follow-through with emergency plan
