ISO Equestrian Facility Maintenance Specialist

Seeking a team-player to join the dynamic staff of a growing equestrian facility in Boyce, Virginia. The Equestrian Facility Maintenance Specialist is vital for ensuring that the property is maintained properly for our equestrians, horses, fellow staff, and property owners.

Required Skills:

-Knowledge of tractors and ability to change varied tractor attachments

-Ability to use arena grooming equipment including back-loaded groomer and water tank

-Ability to confidently and safely operate a wide array of farm equipment, including snow-plows and a variety of power tools

Essential Qualifications:

-2 to 5 years of farm maintenance experience preferred

-Familiarity working with and around horses preferred

-Must promote a team environment and a willingness to go above and beyond for guests and fellow staffers

-Must be willing to interact with guests and fellow staff members in a positive manner

-Must be detail-oriented

-Must be able to execute duties with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgement in problem solving

-Must possess the physical strength to lift up to 50 lbs.

-Must be able to work outdoors in all elements

-Basic computer skills and a valid driver’s license required

Key Responsibilities:

-Implement pasture management plan including bushhogging, harrowing, mowing, and picking

-Mow and weed-eat around arena, pastures, and paddocks

-Repair fences and gates to ensure safety of horses, participants, and staff

-Collect and spread manure to fertilize pastures as necessary

-Maintain driveway and parking areas

-Plow and shovel snow

-Perform repairs on equipment large and small

-Maintain cleanliness of buildings

-Water indoor and outdoor arena and maintain footing in arenas

-Mow, string-trim, bush hog, aerate, fertilize, and reseed hay fields and horse pastures

-Maintain and clean farm and equestrian field maintenance equipment

-Maintain up-to-date records of preventative maintenance and repairs on all facility equipment

This is a full-time position with benefits after a 90-day probationary period.

The anticipated work schedule is Sunday - Thursday 7am - 4pm.
