Jamestown Family Health Clinic is seeking a full-time Clinical Informatics I to join their team!
Clinical informatics (CI) is a specialty that integrates clinical science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in the practice of healthcare delivery. CI supports consumers, patients, clinicians, and healthcare providers in their decision making delivery of care and optimization of operations in all roles and settings. This support is accomplished using information structures, information processes, and information technology.
The CI-I is responsible for actively assisting in the creation of process documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to optimize workflows and standardize practices. The CI-1 creates and monitors systems used for document control and provides EPIC electronic healthcare records and billing systems and associated applications training of new Medical Staff;, Clinical Support Staff, Health Information Management and Registration/Scheduling. This position provides elbow support to new users and works with Clinic Management to develop workflows. The CI-I will utilize the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to support computer application as appropriate. Other job duties include teaching, coaching and mentoring staff in the use of the Electronic Heath Record and billing and associated applications, coordinating training sessions and researching issues discovered by and for Medical Providers and clinical staff. This position may also be responsible for patient care, preparing for patient appointments and participating in team huddles.

As a Clinic Informatics I, you will:
Provide EPIC, electronic health care and billing and associated applications training to new and existing department staff
Create, build, manage, and train new employee’s access and persona for the Epic electronic record and billing system.
Management employee on-boarding and off-boarding from the Epic and electronic health records and billing system and associated applications.
Support quality assurance as directed Health Department Leadership
Make recommendations to Health Department Leadership for quality improvement and work flow efficiencies, based on analysis
Coordinate tasks associated with accreditation, including accreditation survey, facilitate new committees required as a result of accreditation
Monitor and coordinate quality assurance activities to facilitate improvement. Interacts with various teams to ensure corrective actions are taken to bring quality assurance observations to closure as applicable
Facilitate discussions between EMR vendor and staff; as approved by Supervisor
Fulfill the role of clinical informatics for the department by identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining efficient, effective clinical information systems in coordination with the Health Department Leadership Team
Develop new quality assurance workflow processes and guide books. Coordinate distribution of material to end users
Coordinate and attend Clinic Team meetings and keep written record of attendance and actions
Orient and provide elbow support to new employees, as needed
Train employees in use of medical equipment, the electronic health records and billing systems, associated applications.
Management of the access and training of the voice recognition system
What are the Required Qualifications for this position?
An AA degree and two (2) years health care experience or five (5) years of healthcare experience
Two (2) years of experience using an electronic health record and billing system.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned
Valid Washington State Driver’s License
Must be able to successfully pass criminal background investigation
What are the Preferred Qualifications for this position?
WA State licensed, certified or credentialed in a professional healthcare related field.
Experience with Epic EHR strongly preferred.
Electronic Health Record and billing credentialed training strongly preferred.
Experience with training or teaching end users strongly preferred.
Knowledge and experience of healthcare terminology, healthcare coding and healthcare billing processes preferred. Ability to comprehend and follow established office protocols and policies
Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal Laws and Regulations certification of electronic health records and billing systems.
Exceptional interpersonal skills including effective verbal and written communication
Knowledge of office administrative operations, including personnel management, and compliance
Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrate initiative, work independently with little supervision
American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply
