Network / Desktop Systems Administrator

Recruitment Description:

The City of Ellensburg is accepting applications for a Network/Desktop Systems Analyst. This is a limited term position approved through December of 2022. A request for permanent funding will be submitted for the next biennial budget but funding is not guaranteed. Under the direction of the IT & Telecommunications Manager, this position works independently and performs a variety of detailed technology and computer support services affecting the City organization, including analysis and maintenance of the City network, mission critical servers and operating systems; software identification, procurement, and installation. Responsibilities include providing skilled technical support for PC hardware, desktop operating system and desktop application software necessary for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the City’s computer system. This is a non-union, FLSA exempt position.

Salary: $4,786 - $6,381/month + excellent benefits

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in a Computer Science related field, plus a minimum of five (5) years experience of increasingly responsible professional network/IT experience; demonstrated internal customer service experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted if it provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to accomplish the professional network and information technology functions. Must possess extensive experience of windows server and desktop operating systems. Prefer familiarity with the Microsoft, Cisco, and Fortigate.

Minimum:

- A+ Certificate

- Microsoft Technology Associate

Preferable:

- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)

- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Other:

- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)

- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

- First Aid/CPR certification

Special Requirements:

Valid State driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment; maintain insurable driving record; obtain and maintain first aid and CPR certification; prior to employment applicants are required to pass a background check and must not have any felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories within the past seven years; applicant must complete a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) training exam within 3 months of their hire date.
