Job Description:

Job Title: Proposal Writer

Location: Rancho Cordova CA (Remote till Covid)

Duration: 9+ Months (Possibility of extension )

Description: The Advanced Recognition Systems (ARS) Division of NEC Corporation of America is seeking an experienced Proposal Writer. The Proposal Writer will support development of professional, high-quality, customer-facing proposals and RFP response documents that comply with client requirements and our company's established standards, policies, and procedures.

Duties: Analyze requirements, write, and tailor proprietary boilerplate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create accurate, complete, and compliant proposals in accordance with RFP instructions Edit content from SMEs for clarity, technical accuracy, consistency, readability, and grammar Perform production tasks, including packaging and delivery of proposals Help create and maintain a proposal library in both hard copy and electronic formats Contribute to departmental documents (style guides, proposal management procedures, etc.) to facilitate responding to solicitations Simultaneously support multiple proposal assignments Perform other related duties as assigned by the department manager Schedule and support meetings regarding the status of proposals, deadlines, and risks to finishing and submitting proposals on time

Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in English, Communication, Journalism, or a related discipline preferred, but not required, OR at least five years of equivalent experience in technical proposal writing and editing Experience in a Biometrics/IT field in support of government or private markets preferred but not required Familiarity with the Shipley Methodology or equivalent proposal development processes, from capture management through final proposal production, preferred but not required

Skill/Experience/Education:

Mandatory: Mastery of the English written language, including spelling, composition, editing, and grammar Strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to communicate information, concepts, and ideas effectively and professionally Strong time-management skills Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Word Moderate to high proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and Adobe Acrobat Professional Ability to adapt to new, technology-driven tools.
