We are looking for a skilled purchasing agent to buy goods and services necessary for our business. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset. The role of the purchasing agent is to produce orders and quotes efficiently and timely while maintaining the accuracy of the database to ensure protect the franchises margins and to offer support to sales staff and management. You should know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers. Strong communication skills are necessary to help negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Produce orders for each job
Maintain a update pricing in computer system
Produce copies of relevant plans (to attach to Orders) for subcontractors
Be knowledgeable about Preferred suppliers
Produce accurate price books provided by suppliers
Negotiate pricing with suppliers
Compare supplier prices
Add new standard house types to computer system (as required)
Arrange Supplier quotes when required for each Job, in a timely manner i.e. windows, roof materials, trusses, etc.
Check returned Supplier quotes and update computer system
Check engineer’s requirements
Check change orders(if any) and update computer system
Complete a Job schedule for each Job in the computer system
Get Jobs started as soon as possible after plan approval
Print out Job Bill of Materials Summary for each new Job – hand to Admin.
Check invoices match Orders (for correct pricing) sign off, then give to Supervisor

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year depending on experience
