Family Law Attorney or Paralegal

Our law firm is seeking someone with at least 5 years' experience in family law. We do not receive many family law cases but are building up that practice. A lot of our work involved child custody at this time, but we also turn away complex cases where assets are involved.

Our cases usually involve highly experienced, and 'creative', for lack of a better word, counsel. We require someone who is experienced in the various motions that are filed, as well as family law procedures. Our team is excellent at research and we can create briefs if that is not your strength (ie we can work as a team), but we like to present well-documented motions so that we prevail. Sometimes opposing may not play by the rules and we are seeking someone who has been exposed to that and knows how to strategically overcome such issues. We have a very comprehensive Westlaw package including all 45 Rutter Guides as well as the advanced CEB package (online) with family law.

Please send us a cover letter, explaining your availability (we understand that a paralegal will provide different information and skillsets than a lawyer), the hourly rate you are seeking, and what makes you the ideal candidate. This is a work-from-home position during these Covid times. After Covid, if you still prefer to work from home, that is available. If you are hired, we will require 3 references from you, as well as a background check. If you are an attorney, we do require 3 motions/briefs that you wrote by yourself, preferably in the area of Child custody, and/or support.
