CAD/BIM Specialist for Engineering Firm

An innovative, award-winning structural engineering firm in downtown Berkeley is seeking a CAD/BIM specialist (30 to 40 hours a week) to support more than 30 engineers and expand our building-modeling capacity. Social skills and an attitude of service are paramount, in addition to expertise working with Autodesk's AutoCAD and Revit. We’re looking for a fast learner who is enthusiastic to learn in-house custom tools, with an affinity for problem solving and the ability to think creatively. This is a nonexempt, or hourly, position.

Responsibilities:

● Setting up new structural BIM models and drafting CAD details, either independently or working from engineers' mark ups.

● Coordinating and collaborating with clients’ BIM managers to facilitate project deliverables.

● Customizing AutoCAD and Revit to help engineers work more efficiently.

● Creating new dynamic blocks in AutoCAD and families in Revit, along with setting up standardized project templates.

● Training new staff on AutoCAD/Revit and creating standardized training documentation.

● Troubleshooting issues with AutoCAD/Revit.

● Working with the IT director to install/deploy AutoCAD and Revit.

Requirements:

● Five or more years working with AutoCAD and Revit in the A/E/C industry.

● Experience with AutoLISP, .NET Programming, or Dynamo is a plus.

● Experience with other 3D modeling and rendering software like Rhino, 3DS Max, SketchUp is a plus.
