Medical Assistant / Urgent Care

Central Coast Urgent Care, Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for our Morro Bay location. As a medical assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support our physicians to help triage, stabilize and treat patients suffering from broken bones, lacerations, a-typical chest pain, and the common cold. We have facilities located in Morro Bay, Pismo Beach and Atascadero.

Required Qualifications:

Experience in a medical office setting.

Highly organized, detail orientated, and ability to multi-task.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent computer / EMR skills.

Outgoing and must enjoy interpersonal interaction.

Knowledge in medical terminology and pharmacology.

Completion of Medical Assistant program.

Front Desk experience a plus.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

Escorts patient to exam room; obtains brief history and vital signs; updates medical records for clinician's review

Assists providers with procedures and cleanup.

Assures exam rooms are cleaned and stocked before and after each patient.

Equipment sterilization.

Performing EKG's.

Giving injections.

Accurate documentation in electronic health record.

Assist front desk, schedule appointments and verify insurance.
