On-Call Banquet Server

Join our team: Banquet servers work at events such as weddings and parties. In addition to serving food, they set up and break down the event and offer excellent customer service to guests. Banquet servers work in a variety of venues, which can range from a banquet hall to an outdoor venue. Many employers prefer banquet servers to be available on call for work. Energetic, friendly, and social, banquet servers love working with people and enjoy interacting with guests. The banquet server reports to the Banquet Manager and works with a team of servers to ensure the event runs smoothly.

Availability: Needs to be available Thursday – Sunday

Compensation: $15.00 + Tips

General Responsibilities:

Attend pre-event meetings to be informed of schedule and menu

Dress in accordance with event guidelines

Provide prompt and courteous service to all guests

Memorize the event menu to provide prompt information to guests

Clear, clean and stage tables between courses

Wear slip-resistant footwear for all shifts

Adhere to all applicable laws when serving alcohol

Desired Skills and Experiences:

Some education in hospitality (preferred)

Good interpersonal skills

An understanding of local and state alcohol laws

Excellent memory ability

Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays

Must be able to regularly lift and carry 25+ lbs

Valid State ID

Physical Demands

Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours

Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25lbs or more.

Ability to remain standing or walking for up to 6 hours or more

Must be able to withstand loud noises such as wedding DJ’s or simply a generally loud party atmosphere.

Must be able to work in tight spaces, such as maneuvering around guest tables or a packed dance floor.

Must be able to withstand loud noises such as wedding DJ’s or simply a generally loud party atmosphere.

Must be able to withstand a certain degree of heat, whether environmental such as from capacity, or regarding dishes/hotel pans.
