POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this job description is to establish, define, and communicate the requirements of the Driller’s Assistant at Arthur and Orum Well Drilling, Inc. This document provides expectations, responsibilities, duties, and performance requirements for the position
BASIC FUNCTION
The Driller’s Assistant is responsible for supporting the driller, rig and site. The key purpose of this position is to maintain the safe, accurate and timely completion of wells.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Driller Assistants report directly to the Driller

Education
Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent
Licensing, Registration and Certifications
Required: Valid State Driver’s License
Preferred: Valid State Driver’s Class A License
Experience
Preferred: Minimum of one (1) years-experience as a Driller’s Assistant
Preferred: Bi-lingual Spanish & English
Skill, Knowledge and Abilities
1. Ability to drive service truck and trailer
2. Ability to safely operate a forklift
3. Ability to operate a backhoe safely
4. The ability to organize, direct, control, and manage materials,
supplies, and personnel to accomplish the goals and objectives
5. Language ability to include reading, writing, spelling, and the
ability to communicate
6. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
7. Take direction in a fast paced labor intensive environment
Physical
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time. He/She must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, equipment and peripherals. In addition, bending, reaching, and crouching are needed. The ability to frequently lift 50 pounds is required.
The employee must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position works primarily outdoors and will require the employee to travel to project job sites in company vehicles. The employee will encounter varying climates and conditions, and may be exposed to inclement weather, and significant temperature swings. Workdays will be 10 hours per day but may require overtime (12+ hours) periodically. Workdays are 5-7 days per week with day and night shifts.
