Position Title: Accounting Technician

FLSA Status: Part Time Non-Exempt 25 to 30 hours per week

Required Travel: Limited, less than 5%

Salary: Hiring Range $13.35 to $14.55 per hour

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the CFO, this position is responsible for providing accounting support to CFO, other accounting personnel and others in the agency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures for all accounting functions.

2. Post invoices and receipts.

3. Process bills for payment; issue checks for accounts payable.

4. Prepare credit card statement worksheet for documentation and payment.

5. Assign account numbers, request disbursements, reconcile accounts.

6. Reconcile and produce employee expense reimbursements.

7. Ensure files are complete and maintained as needed.

8. Research, track and resolve accounting problems, as necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. The ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written format in both individual and group settings.

2. Ability to be flexible, and able to change direction rapidly. Maintain professional boundaries while establishing a trustworthy and beneficial relationship.

3. Represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.

4. Ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.

5. Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, complete a wide variety of tasks in a timely and accurate fashion and direct others, as needed.

6. Basic computer knowledge.

7. Knowledge of the type of services Ariel Clinical Services provides.

8. Exercise independent judgment within the scope and boundaries of the department, the Agency’s Standard Operating Procedures, and Federal, State and Local Rules and Regulations regarding department operations.

9. Ability to provide reliable transportation for self.

10. Working knowledge of accounting software currently being used at Ariel.

11. The ability to demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance as scheduled and requested.

Education Requirements

Required:

High School graduation or equivalent, minimum age 18.

Two years minimum of equivalent experience.

Preferred:

Associates degree in Accounting.

Background in finance and data analysis

Experience with the Medicaid Waiver process.
