Estimator IIJob Location West Sacramento, California, United StatesFull time/ Direct HireSummary:The Estimator II prepares timely and accurate bid estimates for medium to large-sized projects/programs within an assigned line of business, Region, or Division and helps plan all projects with expectations for the efficient use of personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors within contract requirements, time guidelines, and other restrictions.The Estimator II will fully understand the major business components and implications specific to estimating and cost control for Construction Companies while ensuring compliance with the client's established Project Management Methodology and upholding their safety and quality management protocols.Responsibilities:This role is fully responsible for the preparation and maintenance of bid documentation, as well as traveling to job locations to confirm project site conditions. The Estimator II also leads bid strategy and presentation discussions, follows awarded contracts to monitor extra work items, procurement of material, credits, etc. This role assists field personnel in developing and/or recommending change orders to scope as needed.The Estimator II ensures that bid deadlines and customer presentation requirements are met while proactively identifying and suggesting solutions for known or anticipated construction problems to minimize cost and reduce risk. This role also provides insight to thought leadership in the continuous improvement of methodology, tools and approaches using fundamentals of the client's Project Management practices.Additionally, the Estimator I will interface with various internal and external stakeholders on planning and scheduling related items and functions, including reporting requirements, progress reporting, complaint schedules, etc., while communicating with influence and presenting effectively to client group and team members.Required Skills:
- Experience in estimating mid-scale projects and advanced knowledge of construction and utility industry practices, underground
- Experience with computerized bidding software and proficiency in MS Office applications
- Completion of H&M PMM training and some formal Project Management coursework
- Complex problem-solving skills
