Scrum Master

This is a full-time direct role. Starts off remote due to Covid. Onsite depending on Covid target of July/August.

Description:
  • Works as a servant leader and coach to enable teams to self-organize, self-manage and deliver on their goals by following Lean-Agile practices. Actively works to mature their teams to become self-organizing and cross functional.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs as a Scrum Master for 2-3 teams.
  • Facilitates road mapping, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Fosters an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.
  • Supports the triage and resolution of critical project issues.
  • Maintains relevant metrics to gauge team progress.
  • Prepares and delivers progress and status updates for both internal and client teams.
  • Enables cross communication between agile teams by participating in the scrum of scrum meetings.
  • Receives feedback from all levels and implements feedback towards continuous personal improvement.
  • Mentor’s associate scrum masters.
  • Facilitates the scrum ceremonies, removes impediments, acts as a buffer for the team from all outside distractions, and ensures that scrum rules are followed. Assists the team in staying accountable to their commitments consistently.
  • Enables cross communication between agile teams by participating in the scrum of scrum meetings.
  • Ensures cross-team coordination and works with other scrum masters on the team to maintain a consistent practice across the organization.

  • Position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems and three years of information technology experience with three year's work experience leading projects/developing or leading teams in an agile environment.
  • SP and SSM/CSM certification required, or the ability to obtain them within 12 months of employment. Will accept any suitable combination or education, training or experience.
  • Position requires an understanding of common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and iterative development practices; knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, and Automated Testing preferred; ability to manage large and complex projects; ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions; ability to establish immediate credibility with business stakeholders, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence; excellent interpersonal/communication skills; prior hands-on development experience preferred; familiarity with multiple team management tools (JIRA/Confluence, Pivotal Tracker, VersionOne, etc.)
