QA Engineer II. This is a 6-month contract opportunity based out of Orange County, CA. This role is responsible for creating test plans; executing the plan and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met and that the solution works as expected. The solution should be tested in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with other legacies- and/or external systems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant QA technical experience.
  • 3+ years large enterprise or e-business systems experience.
  • SQL Query.
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Quality Assurance best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Ability to think strategically, demonstrating critical thought in a complex business environment.
  • Demonstrated effective professional communication (written and verbal) skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Review functional specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
  • In-depth functional testing – Must be able to evaluate functional stability to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Backend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment including validating stored procedures, jobs, and triggers.
  • Identify test requirements from specifications, document detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases and test scenarios for functional and regression testing.
  • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
  • Communicate any obstacles to raise awareness and avoid project impediments and overall project timeline disruption.
  • Work closely with software developers and business analysts to resolve issues.
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product Owner, Business Analysts, and Developers on tasks related to the planning, testing, and coordination of release activities.
  • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
