Production Line Worker - Tortilla Packaging

Second and Third Shifts

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for packaging finished product (tortillas or fried product) in their proper cases or trays by hand. Seals, labels, and lifts boxes to be placed on pallet. May use a hand pallet jack to move product to shipping warehouse.

Responsible for following Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety standards at all time.

Pack in boxes or trays corn or flour tortillas and/or finished fried products.

Verify code dates, sealing, product weight, and product appearance is within specified parameters and conform to client’s expectations.

Check the appearance and quality of the final product.

Check bags to make sure proper packaging is being used.

Ensure that trays are clean and in good condition. Remove any damaged or dirty trays.

Responsible for maintaining sufficient amount of trays and boxes to pack products.

Report to work on time to relieve the previous shift.

Follow directions from Production Lead and Supervisors.

Monitor the metal detector functions once trained and approved by the HACCP team.

Attend safety and quality training sessions as required.

Report injury or illness within 24 hours to supervisor or manager.

Follow all company rules and regulations.

Minimum Required Skills:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.

Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Must know how to read, write, add and subtract

Able to work 2nd or 3rd shift.

Able to work Monday to Sunday – 2 days off during week

Able to stand for long periods of time in a fast paced environment

Able to lift up to 50 lbs. several times during shift

To interview, applicants must not have long nails or nail polish, no jewelry, no piercings, no fake eye lashes, no shorts, no open toe shoes, no sandals, no shirts with short sleeves, no skirts or dresses. Must wear pants, socks, covered shoes, long sleeve shirt, and Face Mask.
