Bakery/Carry Out Server

Cafe Selmarie is hiring! We are a busy restaurant and bakery located in Lincoln Square, serving brunch, lunch and dinner along with a comprehensive in-house bakery menu. We are currently open with a limited menu for carry out, patio seating and delivery. We have not yet resumed indoor dining but hope to do so in the next few months.

We are looking for part-time and full-time Bakery Counter/Carryout Server staff. This is a unique position that involves many skills. Because we have not had indoor dining in the past year, we have combined our serving staff, bakery counter staff and bussing staff into one position that does a little bit of everything!

The position includes:

Serving our in-person bakery and carry-out customers

Filling online orders for carryout and delivery

Barista duties - making espresso and coffee drinks

Taking bakery orders and restaurant carry-out orders

Fielding phone calls for orders, pickups, etc

Running carryout orders to cars for curbside pickup

Running carryout orders to the patio and maintaining the patio area

Stocking all bakery product, slicing cakes and simple decorating

Keeping the front bakery area clean and organized

Must be available to work weekends

Candidates must possess excellent customer service skills, be detail-oriented and good at multi-tasking, and have a professional, positive attitude. Candidates must be comfortable working under pressure in a fast paced environment, while maintaining composure and a friendly demeanor.

ServSafe and BASSET certificates a plus. We ask that you have some prior experience working in a restaurant, café or bakery.
