One permanent part-time position available (20 hours per week)

Wage: $22.95 - $29.72 per hour

Job summary:

Under general direction, assists in the development of the Iowa City Public Library’s digital collection of local history and cultural materials. Identifies, develops and maintains digital content, processes digital images and creates basic metadata. Creates and delivers programs and classes related to local history and digitization. Performs work related to the circulation of library materials, including issuing borrower cards. Works on the Help Desk. Assists people booking meeting rooms and provides reader’s advisory service. Criminal background check required. Serves in Help Desk evening and weekend rotations.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in the humanities or social sciences or equivalent or combination of education and experience resulting in comparable knowledge and abilities required. Experience with Adobe Photoshop or comparable editing software required. Experience with Omeka, Islandora, or comparable content management system required. One year of experience in library public setting or in a related customer service field required. Criminal background check required.

Preferred qualifications:

Public library experience preferred. Reader’s advisory experience in a public library preferred. Experience delivering instructional and technology support preferred.
