Application Administrator - GIS Grand Rapids, MI (local remote/hybrid opportunity) Responsible for the administration and development of the required application. This person will provide direction for the user community, coordinate with the application vendor on issues and/or upgrades and guides other application administrators.

  • Perform troubleshooting for ESRI ArcGIS suite of applications such as ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, & ArcGIS Online.
  • Perform routine administration such as setting up new users for various GIS related applications.
  • Coordinate application upgrades and patching.
  • Facilitate communication between end users and IT department.
  • Develop and maintain application documentation.
  • Monitor and coordinate resolution of application service desk tickets.
  • Develop and maintain required reporting.
  • Learn complex application functions to facilitate issues.
  • Python Scripting and SQL Database experience preferred.
  • Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the primary job responsibilities as described above.
Required
  • Proven Ability to provide written documentation and correspondence on various GIS applications.
  • Proven Ability to develop and a present a plan to other members of the project team.
  • Proven Ability to resolve/manage conflict within a team.
  • Proven Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting between applications.
  • Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skill.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Aids and guides fellow Application Administrators.
  • Understanding of business function(s) as they relate to the application.
  • Experience managing application integrations and implementations.
  • Advanced understanding of ITIL concepts.
  • Proven to be self-motivated and directed, can define team direction.
  • Advanced customer service orientation.
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Environmental Science, computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics or related degree. A combination of education, experience and training may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • This job's responsibilities may include task assignment to support, administer, or access systems.
