- Create SW design and development for new telematics products based on customer requirements
- Assist in determining product requirements and enhancements.
- Participate in the research, design and development of software will develop new features for existing disclosure management software, analyzing and helping to resolve bugs/problems that arise during the process.
- Gather customer requirements, analyze and convert these into technical requirements
- Responsible for Change request, architecture design, feasibility analysis and Feature Design, Functionality /Software Development.
- Responsible for integration and System Testing and handling deployment and Release Procedures.
- Resolve complex technical issues related to telematics systems
- Design and work closely with developers to get design implemented for software components
- Review code changes and unit test cases
- Possess cross platform expertise on Android, Linux to solve cross platform issues
- Liaising with offshore team to bridge between customer and offshore development teams
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics\Computer science\Instrumentation\Mechatronics)
- 10 to 14 years of overall experience, of which at least 6 years should be in embedded/automotive domain
- Experience in hardware products including embedded software design and development on Linux\Android based systems
- Experience in OBD2/CAN/J1939
- Ability to communicate advanced and complex concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business
- Well organized and good at understanding the big picture of the product and business
- Strong team player with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated, results driven individual, passionate about technology
- Cloud experience is an advantage
- Experience with developing telematics products
- Experience working with offshore teams located outside of USA
- Experience in OTA, Cybersecurity solutions
- Be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel
- Be willing to work out of Harman’s office building in Farmington Hills, MI
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
- This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion, no more than 4 active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years.
