PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Utilize emotional intelligence to manage diverse resources at all organizational levels
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to create action plans and make project related decisions
  • Demonstrate leadership by taking initiative in team building, influencing, conflict management, and problem resolution to facilitate project success
  • Effectively accomplish project goals through clear task prioritization, organized work activities, efficient time management, and mindful resource usage
  • Actively participate in development of project, program and portfolio management standards. Provide expertise by regularly volunteering to lead PMO Improvement initiatives and participate in team discussions.
  • Perform effective project risk and issue management and reporting, escalating as needed to ensure timely resolution and mitigation.
  • Follow appropriate project documentation as defined by the PMO Methodology for each phase of the project beginning with Initiation and through Closing.
  • Manage competing demands for assigned project teams, adapting to changes in the HF environment as necessary.
  • Effectively communicate project status and operational issues to management, team members and Health First associates through verbal and written communication.

    Stewardship:
  • Responsible for identifying and establishing the requirements for capital and operational budgets for assigned projects.
  • Monitor and track budgets throughout the project lifecycle, adjusting expenditures as necessary, and work within approved budget.
  • Responsible for securing the CIP (Construction In Progress) number from Finance for capital budgets associated with the project.
  • Responsible for identifying all operational costs and appropriate cost codes associated with the project and ensuring the owner of these costs is aware and can manage their operational budget to support these costs.
  • Process all project related invoices to ensure the charges are accurate and are coded appropriately to the CIP number, or operational cost code identified.

    Customer Experience:
  • Conduct effective and thorough project meetings that include confirmation of scope, roles and responsibilities, success criteria, and high-level timelines.
  • Provide excellent project communication to include routine project status meetings, project sponsor touchpoints, and stakeholder management
  • Document sponsorship and project team acceptance of project gates by completing project acceptance documents as required.
  • Exhibit clear, sound and accurate judgment in driving decision-making related to the project. Display flexibility and persistence to ensure decisions are made in a timely manner. Also, ensure consistent documentation surrounding decisions made in the project.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to the Health First organization by displaying courtesy and sensitivity, managing difficult or emotional customer situations, meeting commitments, responding promptly to customer needs and soliciting customer feedback to improve service.
  • Appropriately influence project stakeholders to maintain project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Engage project resources to maintain project momentum and achieve project goals.
  • Regularly and actively engage project sponsors to assist in accomplishing project tasks and milestones

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, as offered by PMI (Project Management Institute) will be required during first year of employment.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or the equivalent in a computer-related, business, health care, or other relevant field is required.
  • Five (5) or more years of Project Management experience. Experience in a health care environment preferred.
  • Proven management skills through years in a management position or similar work experience.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, including budgets, matrixed resources and schedules.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse healthcare environment.
