Fisherman's Inn, one of the Chesapeake Bay area's landmark seafood restaurants, has an immediate position for a seasoned, full time, professional manager, to join our existing, awesome management team.
The ideal candidate must be a hands-on working manager, not a finger pointer. Have a passion for hospitality, food, and wine and a strong work ethic and experience in high volume, front-of-the-house operations and/or assistant restaurant management positions.
We offer rotating schedules and must be able to work some nights and weekends. The restaurant manager will be accountable for daily functions and operations of the front of house. To effectively evaluate, train, lead, motivate and manage the front of house team. This position offers a great opportunity for someone to take pride in the workplace he or she will help run. This is NOT a corporate job with numbers goals answering to the head office.
The ideal manager candidate should have a proven background of success within the industry in both service and kitchen environments. To work collaboratively with chef to motivate not only front of house but kitchen staff to work as a team and ensure that food and service continue to meet our customer’s expectations.
We serve “boat to table” at the water's edge on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, minutes from the Bay Bridge and Annapolis. As an established, family owned, hands-on operation for 90 years we take great pride in offering one of the best dining experiences in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruit, hire, train and oversee front of house staff
Schedule staff that meets the needs of the restaurant
Coordinate, monitor and direct front of house and bar operation
Server and bar checkout at shift changes
Research and implement new cocktails
Weekly wine and liquor ordering including bar supplies
Communicate issues and needed repairs with building or equipment with owners
Collaborate with chef to include beer, wines & cocktails for “weekly specials”
Utilize HACCP and CDC guidelines & procedures to ensure food safety
Maintain building cleanliness, abide by all state and county sanitation laws
Work with the management team to sell and oversee in-house banquets
Support kitchen, plate and expedite as needed.
Resolve any customer complaints and ensure complete guest satisfaction
Help oversee social media and marketing
Restaurant Manager Qualifications:
6+ years experience as restaurant manager
2+ years experience in high volume preferred
ServSafe Ⓡ Manager Certification or ability to become certified
Certification in an alcohol management program or become certified (TIPS)
Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish is a plus but not required
Knowledge of beer, wine and liquor
Proven leadership as a manager of a diverse staff and management team
Able to work in a traditional restaurant environment which includes moderate lifting
