The Scoop The position is a liaison between end-users/clients and the Technical Development team. The position is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating complex business systems and user needs and maintaining a product backlog while prioritizing requirements. This individual formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies and writes user stories with clear and defined acceptance criteria. - Identifies, analyzes, monitors and suggests actions for products and services that materially contribute to the mission of the company
- Conducts market and competitive analysis by retrieving information from a variety of sources, including but not limited to proprietary databases, Internet, focus groups and other data sources
- Utilizes information retrieved to conduct research and analysis and presents results to leadership and product value teams
- Completes all documentation throughout the product or project lifecycle, including creating business cases, business plans, business requirements, and product toolkits
- Manages the conceptualization, design, product development and implementation of approved new and expanded products & services utilizing industry standard methodologies for product lifecycle management
- Interviews end-users/customers to understand user needs and elicit business requirements
- Helps anticipate user needs by performing in-depth analysis of data and gaining understanding of their work and pain points to consultatively suggest product functionality
- Translates user needs into functional and data solutions in order to build desired user-centered functionality
- Coordinates and collaborates with Business Owner and stakeholders, UX designers, and technical development teams to ensure requirements are understood and defined so that the software can build against those requirements
- Defines and documents requirements business rules to assist in the development of software specifications to include system requirements, flow charts, report mock-ups, and business rules
- Helps maintain a product backlog that aligns with the vision as defined and discussed with the Business Owner and stakeholders
- Writes user stories with clear and well-defined acceptance criteria, so all members of the project team can understand the idea that is being conveyed and how it relates to the overall goal of the project
- Actively participates in agile ceremonies of sprint planning and backlog grooming and attends daily scrum meetings
- Ensures that the technical team works upon the priorities and monitors the progress of the items over the course of a sprint
- Promotes continuous improvement by ensuring adherence to quality principles
- Seeks out and actively participates in business initiatives that contribute to service excellence
- Collaborates and cultivates positive relationships with internal and external customers through delivery of sustainable, measurable, accurate, reliable, and timely results that meet or exceed customer expectations
- For consideration, candidates will need a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and eight (8) to twelve (12) plus years of job-related experience in all the essential job functions listed
- Ability to mentor and provide functional work direction to less experienced team members
- Ability to create and maintain an implementable product roadmap that aligns with the overall vision of the product
- Visio, Golden 32, Secure CRT Design software and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Unified Modeling Language; Oracle database; JAVA, SQL
- Familiar with relational databases and client server concepts
- Familiar with web distributed systems concepts
- Working knowledge of Agile software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Familiar with Test-Driven Development (TDD) in SDLC
- Solid business and technical understanding of supported client products and services.
- Knowledge of Business Analysis Best Practices (BABOK)
