This role is responsible for providing cloud engineering for critical applications hosted in Google Cloud Platform and Azure platforms. This includes working directly with the product engineering team to identify the requirements and help facilitate setting up the targeted cloud infrastructure along with consulting and collaborating DevOps, Infrastructure and other relevant parties to ensure that the platform meet the required scalability, observability and security as per the requirements and standards. This position is under the Solution Architecture team within the Cloud Engineering tower.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced system administration, operational support and problem resolution for a large complex cloud computing environment in Google Cloud Platform & Azure
  • Architecture landing zone and VPC network architecture.
  • Enable DevOps development activities, working with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, containers, microservices, Redis, Kafka, Vault, data platforms etc.
  • Setting up monitoring in the cloud using external monitoring tools; Elastic, New Relic, or Prometheus
  • Deploy CI/CD pipeline, set up monitoring
  • Additional product set up includes the following;
    • HashiCorp Vault
    • Redis enterprise for caching
    • Kafka as messaging platform
  • Have an understanding of Cloud Security; API Gateway, Cloud Functions.
  • Write Infrastructure as Code to Manage and Operate end-to-end lifecycle operations (monitoring, alerting, security, cost optimization, configuration, backup etc.) in production environments
  • Design, create, develop, own and maintain operational procedures for onboarding, managing cloud environments to meet defined SLAs
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot public cloud related issues escalated by service desk teams or routed via incident management

Required Skillset
  • 7+ years of experience in high-tech environment
  • 3+ years minimum of cloud infrastructure experience;
    • Hands on experience with Azure P.
    • 1+ years of experience required with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Scripting in Terraform, Ansible, Shell, or python
  • Knowledge with Kubernetes Architecture highly desired.
  • Hands-on Cloud experience with
    • Google Cloud Platform and Azure cloud experience
    • DevOps tools
    • CI/CD Pipeline, Docker
    • Microservices
    • Automation in Puppet
  • Kafka, Redis caching or any other Big Data Technology is a plus.
  • Database experience in the Cloud;
    • Cloud SQL, PostGres, MYSQL database
  • Experience with the configuration and implementation of cloud technology;
    • Deploy in Terraform, supporting the CI/CD pipeline with some exposure to Ansible, Helm Chart
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems

Desirable Skillset
  • Certification in Azure P is nice to have, can be substituted for experience.
