Senior Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Specialist. The Challenge: Improve upon existing safety systems (world class) as well as establish new programs to further the emphasis on safety. Create and execute safety training programs to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses. As a valued employee of the Milwaukee Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) team, you will develop and improve safety practices throughout the site while leading a team of workers with common goals and strategies. The challenge will include using your effective communication skills to bring together all employees through correct safety and health practices.

Requirements and Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial or Occupational Safety, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience (hands-on) in the Health and Safety field (unionized industrial, construction, and/or heavy manufacturing industry preferred)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Self starter who is passionate about safety and can lead the way
  • Able to motivate and maintain a sense of urgency to continuously improve safety performance
  • Proven experience facilitating problem solving tools and techniques.
  • Strong preference to have worked in a behavioral based safety environment where these guidelines were practiced
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the Safety profession - we want someone who is excited about the field and who stays current
  • Leadership skills, vision - we want someone who can inspire others and gain buy-in - a change agent for continuous improvement
  • Problem solving skills - both process and people - be able to give specific examples that demonstrate these skills
  • Either hands-on experience with OSHA regulations or proven experience in knowing where/how to get current info quickly and interpret correctly
