Role: IT Helpdesk Assistant (Contract, Part time) Location: Menlo Park, CA Responsibilities:

  • Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
  • Maintain employee computer systems and associated IT / AV equipment, provide proactive system maintenance and scheduled downtimes
  • Respond to support requests and demonstrate ownership of the issue until resolved
  • Perform software installs/updates following company policy to ensure productivity and uptime
  • Comprehensive inventory tracking of hardware and software
  • Support onsite and offsite end-users including on-call rotation and some afterhours & weekends
  • Document daily tasks in ticketing system with detailed resolution
  • Read the documentation of hardware systems, software, patches, and release notes
  • Ability to perform typical (basic) network troubleshooting/performance issues.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
  • Respond to users' inquires and solve problems for users
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems
  • Install computer peripherals for users
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
Requirement:
  • Minimum 1-year experience in an I.T helpdesk/support environment
  • Able to navigate the flexibility of a startup environment
  • College degree or equivalent education/experience is required.
  • Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with basic troubleshooting Internet and LAN connectivity, printers, scanners
  • Experience troubleshooting Mac and Windows hardware and software
  • Basic knowledge of networking: IP addressing, DNS, DHCP
Nice to Have
  • Possess strong working knowledge of Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, JIRA, Confluence, Dropbox, or similar cloud providers
