Growing security and life safety integration company is looking for an experienced installer. Installation and service work experience preferred. 2-4 years previous industry experience required as an installer. Commercial, residential, and some government work. Work performed primarily in PA, Eastern Ohio and NY.

Some job responsibilities include:

Continuously prioritize job responsibilities and maintain a proactive approach

Perform installation, service and NFPA inspection work jobs.

Program panels and equipment as required.

Install and/or service and/or inspect any and all equipment/material according to all national and local codes and Company standards

Install, maintain, or repair security systems, fire alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.

Pull and label all wire neatly and correctly to Company standards

Anticipate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems.

Examine systems to locate problems, such as loose connections or broken insulation.

Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper function and to diagnose malfunctions.

Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.

Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, position and terminate cables where required.

Inspect installation sites and work orders, building plans and installation manuals to determine material requirements and installation procedures and document requirements and procedures.

Adjust sensitivity of units, based on the room structures and manufacturers’ recommendations.

Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.

Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.

Correctly fill out job and service paperwork in a timely manner (i.e. service slips, inspection reports, records of completion and zone lists).

Accurately notate parts needed for follow-up work and equipment onsite and be able to effectively communicate such to others

Properly notate what, where and how equipment/devices test

Assist with training employees on the jobsite on how to perform the required work according to national and local codes and Company standards.

Maintain a clean driving record with the DMV and active personal vehicle car insurance and have a valid driver’s license

This position does require physical labor and working in various conditions. Candidate must:

Have the physical ability to work long days

Have the physical ability to carry and move ladders (including extension), equipment and parts (i.e. spools of wire and batteries) without damage to them or property

Must be able to work on all sizes of ladders and lifts

Must be able to work in small spaces and on building roofs

Installers are required to purchase their own set of tools for the position. A list will be provided as needed.

This company does perform background checks.
