Job DescriptionWe are seeking an individual to provide general accounting function support in daily activities as assigned. This requires a basic knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in the MRP system. Matching, compiling and recording/posting vendor invoices and/or apply customer payments to customer invoices. Knowledge of alphabetical and numerical orders for filing. Be able to operate computer keyboard and calculator ten keys.Job Duties:

  • Assisting in matching purchase order/receiving documents to vendor invoices.
  • Assisting in assign general ledger coding to vendor invoices.
  • Assisting in weekly check run and perform other step processes to mail payments to vendors.
  • Assisting in reviewing AP Freight invoices to be processed for proper G/L classifications between Freight In (included in raw material unit cost), Freight Out, Intercompany Transfer Freight costs, and Freight Costs associated with Trade Show Exhibits and Fixed Assets.
  • Opening and assisting in handling vendor invoices.
  • Understanding chart of accounts.
  • Performing filing.
  • Performing other accounting related tasks as assigned.
  • Assisting Accounting Manager in month-end and year-end close process as required and performing any other related and special tasks assigned as needed
Experience/Education:
  • Associates degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
  • Two to three years performing a similar function at a company with at least 100 employees.
  • Experience using an ERP system is a plus
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Accounting knowledge and understanding of Chart of Accounts is required.
  • Must have experience with Excel and Word.
  • Must be familiar with alphabetical and numerical orders.
  • Must be organized.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be flexible with schedule as there will be occasional overtime.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all departments in a professional manner.
